The Pickled Goose sits right on the A6 in Barton, on the doorstep of some of Lancashire's best countryside. Perfect whether you're passing through on the Garstang road or making a day of it locally.
If you fancy stretching your legs before or after your visit, the Lancaster Canal towpath through neighbouring Bilsborrow is just minutes away and makes for an easy, flat walk. A little further out, Beacon Fell Country Park offers woodland trails and panoramic views over the Fylde, a great way to walk off a Sunday roast. Brock Valley and Brockholes Nature Reserve both offer scenic riverside and wetland walks for a longer outing.
For something further afield, the historic market town of Garstang is a short drive up the same road, with its Thursday street market and claim to fame as the world's first Fairtrade Town.
